Approval of the Movement in the Diocese of Goma

For the first time on the African continent, on March 06, 2017, Bishop Théophile KABOY of Goma in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has approved “ad experimentum” the Flame of Love Movement on the territory of his diocese for a period of three years.

Below is the translation of the decree as we received it:

Decree of approval of the Flame of Love Movement

Given the commitment of the members of the Flame of Love Movement for the apostolate of prayer and works of charity for the needy,
Aware of the objectives of the Movement, particularly that of organizing meetings on the importance of love towards the Blessed Virgin Mary, the promise of her apparitions, the need to love in order to extinguish THE FIRE OF HATRED BY THE FIRE OF LOVE, reciting the Rosary, having Cenacles of Love where the members accept the conversion of hearts by asking the Blessed Virgin to SPREAD THE FIRE OF GRACE OVER ALL OF HUMANITY BY THE ACTION OF HER FLAME OF LOVE,
Having considered the silent character of the Movement’s apostolate, and after discussions with the International Coordination [of the Flame of Love Movement] for Africa,
Considering the norms of Canon Law relating to Associations of the Faithful in the Church,
Given the pastoral necessity,

I approve

Ad experimentum in the Diocese of Goma, The Flame of Love Movement in accordance with the doctrine of the Second Vatican Council, specifically in its decree on the apostolate of the laity (no. 2-3) and according to the Code of Canon Law (C.298 304), for a three-year period.

Given at Goma on March 6, 2017
Bishop Théophile KABOY
Bishop of Goma
